And here we go again: from 6th - 9th May 2010, the 12th edition of the backup_festival will take place in Weimar. Experimental short films will be presented, discussed and awarded on the premises of the E-Werk club. Highlight of the festival will be the awarding of the backup.award and the backup.clip.award, the winners will be chosen by a top-class jury.

Beyond the cinematic experience, backup.forum offers the opportunity to take part in workshops and discussions with experts and theoreticians from all fields of the media industry. For the first time in its history, backup also provides special agenda items for pupils.

Another innovation is backup.connect, which has been established in order to support young filmmakers and offer them the opportunity to network with established experts of the media industry. Additionally, film fans can come together for a cinematic experience of a special kind, as backup.at.home opens the doors of selected Weimar shared flats to show backup films of particular topics in living-room-atmosphere. Every festival day can either be completed by a relaxed evening in the backup.lounge or a lively party of the backup.club in the old tram depot of the E-Werk club.

backup_festival means four days of extraordinary films, workshops and discourse – four days of eccentricity, philosophy and unlimited party.
